Jewellery workshops Brussels
all workshops are taking place at Grand Hospice, in the heart of Brussels
Are you crazy about jewellery? Come and saw, file, hammer, solder,... and get your hands dirty! The result: you will go home with jewellery of your own design.
Below the list of workshops. You cannot choose ?
The ‘Base techniques + soldering’ workshop (18h) is the most complete one, offering you an overview of the most important base techniques while you also learn how to solder. This workshop lays the best foundation if you want to learn more jewellery techniques afterwards.
You can also opt to split that workshop in two and start with the ‘Base techniques’ workshop (9h) where you make a hanger or a pair of earrings. The ‘Soldering’ workshop (9h) where you make a ring you follow at a later date.
=> freedom of creating your own designs, silver is optional
The ‘Making your own silver ring’ workshop (12h) follows more or less the same pace as the ‘Base techniques + soldering’ workshop, but we shorten the learning process of sawing and filing, and learn the base techniques, including soldering, directly on a silver ring.
=> freedom of creating your own designs, silver is included
The ‘Thematic Saturday’ workshops (6h) are concentrating on one specific technique. You won’t be learning how to saw and file, but you will solder.
It is for beginners who want to have a quick result or a taste of jewellery design before enroling in the ‘Base techniques + soldering’ workshop. But also for people who already followed a first soldering class and want to learn extra soldering techniques.
=> no freedom of creating your own designs (we work with fixed models to save time, one for beginners, one more complex model for more experienced students), silver is optional

Workshops are preceded by an introduction to sawing and filing before you start working on a piece of jewellery. Can you do that already? Good, then you can skip this step and start creating your own jewellery immediately. You get your own kit with hand tools and there are also larger tools available.
The workshops are designed for starters. Only for the 'Soldering' workshop do you need previous jewellery experience like sawing and filing.

I love to pass on my passion. With around 15 years of experience as a goldsmith teacher at Syntra Brussel, I am the ideal person to help you discover the wonderful world of (precious) metal jewellery.
My mother tongue is Dutch, but I give explanations also in French or English, depending on the participants. Note that this is a practical training and many things are shown manually. If necessary, I will be happy to translate certain things individually.
